A consultative forum was held to strengthen the prevention and control of the third Covid 19 storm caused by the Delta species and to strengthen the coordination of stakeholders.
Speaking at the forum, the Dire Dawa Administration Health Bureau Head,W/roLemlemBezabeh, said the expansion of Covid 19 in the Dire Dawa administration has been alarming in recent times. In a daily basis, out of tested individuals, 20 are found with the Pandemicand five people have died within the past two weeks.
“There is a Third Wave of transmission of the virus which is Delta species and the nature of the virus is changing, and the number of people infected and dying is increasing,” she stressed.
W/roLemlemsaid there is no alternative but to take precautionary measures and get vaccinated. In recent times, the number of people infected and dying has risen sharply, for example, after the New Ethiopian Year, 285 people were tested and found with the Pandemic and five died.
Deputy Commissioner of the Dire Dawa Police Commission, Wubit Fekadu, said the Commission will work hard to enforce the proclamations issued to prevent the transmission of Covid 19, adding that the people should not wait for the law enforcement bodies to take precautionary measures.
The Religious Leaders who participated in the Forum said that religious institutions should educate the parishioners in order to prevent the harm that Corona virus Pandemic can inflict on the citizens.
