The Construction Housing and Municipal Standing Committee reviewed the Roads Authority’s half-year performance, sixty day plan implementation and field performance in both urban and rural areas.
The Standing Committee assessed the implementation of the Authority’s 60-day plan as well as the planned construction of 500 meters of urban asphalt in connection with the Nationalities and Nationalities and People’s Day Celebration.In connection with this, the Committee reviewed the maintenance of the cobblestone Ditch in the city center.Out of the planned new and existing projects, a total of 22 projects were constructed on the road.
According to the Standing Committee, the construction of 4.2 km of 521 million birr road from Sham Hotel to the main Djibouti road is 10.24 percent complete and 470 meters of urban asphalt construction.
After reviewing this, the Standing Committee noted that the work done was good and encouraging in light of the budget constraints and other problems, and directed it to address the problem of repairing damaged machinery, improving the quality of road work as well as the city’s traffic congestion and budget deficit.
