First and foremost, the Constitution guarantees the sovereignty of the people of our country; Recognizing that it is the foundation of our democracy; Congratulations to the nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia on the occasion of this great public and national holiday, in which they renew their joint promises and celebrate with great splendor. I would like to welcome you all.
The basic and fundamental objectives of our Constitution are: Respect for democratic values; Ensuring social justice and the rights of citizens; Enabling the continuous improvement of the lives of citizens; In light of this basic objective, it is possible to review the achievements and challenges of the Constitution; The National Symposium that we hold every year as we celebrate the Nationalities Day is of great significance.
This is a symposium to be held with the participation of scholars in the field and all stakeholders: On the one hand, to consolidate the achievements of the Constitution and the Federal system, and in particular to pass on the values of the Constitution to the next generation; As one of the issues to be addressed.
To properly pass on the values of the Constitution to the next generation; It can be considered as one of the things that needs to be done: On the other hand, it is possible to overcome the current challenges of our country in a sustainable manner: It ensures that the legal and democratic system based on the will of the people is maintained.
The chapter we are in now: On the one hand, as a country, our country has entered an unprecedented phase of change; As a result, promising results are being recorded. On the other hand, it is a time when we are fighting to the death for the sake of the country and the nation by giving priority to the country and the people. By understanding this great public and national vision; because we honor and thank our Heroes who are sacrificing for us; On this occasion, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all our Heroes who are falling for their country in all fields, including the Front.
If our Federal system makes a real difference; Especially in areas where there are promising results in industry and services; Dire Dawa is one of the East Industrial Gates; Currently, 41% of industrial development in our Administration; the service sector accounts for 53% of the total industrial and service sectors accounting for 94% of the total economy of our Administration; This shows that Dire Dawa is well on track to achieve its vision of becoming an Industrial hub for Eastern Ethiopia by 2022e.c.
Given the crucial role of ensuring IndustrialDevelopment in terms of trade and service center, our Administration is focusing on this area and will create a wide range of Jobs for the manufacturing industry. Improves income capacity; It will help stabilize structural change and accelerate our overall economy by ensuring Industrial Development as it is crucial for our sustainable development in the next ten years.Rapid growth of our overall economy is also a priority for our Administration over the next ten years.
