The Dire Dawa Administration is expected to attract more than 1,000 out of one million Ethiopians and Ethiopian descents following the Home coming call by the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.). According to Ato Harbi Buh, Deputy Mayor of the Administration and Head of the Trade, Industry and Investment Bureau, more than 100 have so far entered.
Harbi added that a large committee headed by the Deputy Mayor is being set up to coordinate the activities of the Ethiopians and the Ethiopian descentsDiaspora in Dire Dawa Administration.
He described the following Schedule of Events in detail as follows:
– Adequate arrangements have been made to receive and accommodate the Diasporaswith the valuesand norms which Dire Dawa is known so far.
– An agreement has been reached to make 25-30% Discounts in theHotels Services where Guests are staying and they are being hostedaccordingly.
– Diasporas will be encouragedto be engaged in Social Supports.
– At the next development symposium, there will be a Symposium on the current situation and future prospects of Dire Dawa, as well as documentation of past Diaspora developments.
– Thanks Giving and Dinner Party will be organized
– The grand race will be held with the participation of Ethiopians and Ethiopians of Ethiopian descent, and
– Continue to work hard to ensure that the support of the Diaspora is coordinated and consistent.
