Dire Dawa Administration Culture and Tourism Office and Dire Dawa University have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on various potential culture and tourism areas in the Administration.
Ato Murad Bedewi, Head for Dire Dawa Administration Culture and Tourism office, explained that his office signed the memorandum of Understanding with Dire Dawa University to conduct various researches with the University on culture and Tourism areas.
Ato Murad stressed that the joint researches will focus on creating job opportunity on tourism, Afran Qelo Arts Group and Ugaz traditional conflict resolution systems particularly on Isa and Gurgura traditional Conflict Resolution systems. The research action plan will soon be prepared and put in to action in this budget year.
Vice President for Research and Community Services, Dr. Solomon Zerihun, on his part stated that Dire Dawa University has been so far conducting various research projects on community services in the Administration. The university has been focusing on problem solving community service research projects, he added.
Dr. Solomon further explained that the joint research that will be conducted by the university with the Administration culture and tourism office will benefit unemployed residents in Tourism sector in the Administration. Problem solving community based research projects are being conducted with other sectors in the Administration, he mentioned.
