We have Historical Duty to protect the name “Ethiopia”!
    Abiy Ahmed (Dr.)
    Dear children of my country,
    Distinguished Ethiopian Friends,
Ethiopia is a country that has maintained its dignity and independence through the bravery and sacrifice of its Children. It is known both by Friends and Foe. They saw her invincible Arm trying to cross the Border. Those who were eager to activate her were left speechless. She knew in advance that she would give the right education to those who betrayed her. Her Millennial Freedom and Sovereignty were not bestowed by Grace. It is impossible to maintain Freedom without Price; Blood has been paid forthe name of Freedom, Ethiopia and manybravery sacrificed their lives for it.
OurAncestors, whom we know from history, differ in governance and ideology; they differ in their views on Right, Justice, and Equality. For Ethiopia, however, there was no difference in Territorial Integrity, Independence, and Sovereignty. Despite their differences in language, ethnicity, their unwavering determination unites them. No matter how far apart their personal interests are, Ethiopianness comes first when a common enemy comes along.
In the past and today, the needs of each and every one of us are at the bottom of our lives. We want Ethiopia to live and we shall die for her. We want to have a country that belongs to all of us, a country with freedom justiceand greatness in the face of the World. With great ambitions for Ethiopia; wanting our country to be upright; over the past three years, we have done our best. We are struggling to turn our Politics from Killing to Negotiating. We have tried to get everyone who is wandering in the country saying that Ethiopia belongs to all of us. We take the good from the past and move forward with forgiveness. “Let us walk in Love, let us walk in Forgiveness.”
We have opened a new chapter: We have done our best to translate what we promised to tear down the walls of division and hatred and to build a bridge of National Brotherhood.
To revitalize the economy and bring about structural change; to improve our judiciary, to improve our human rights record; we strive to make our foreign policy principle Neighborly. In the meantime, we had strength asHuman being; we had weakness as Human being. We did good things as human being, sodid we bad things, too. But for the sake of Ethiopian unity, for the Glory of Ethiopia and for the Greatness of Ethiopia, we have never been inclined.
Ethiopia is an Attractive Country;her tomorrow is bigger than Yesterday. Suffering is an ongoing process. We are going through this ordeal. Ethiopia will win. We are now in the final stages of saving Ethiopia. Our enemies are attacking us, both inside and outside. On the one hand, our historical enemies have given a scepter of doom not to see Ethiopia which can only grow by its own will and in its own way. If Ethiopia rises and wins in an African way, it will never be the same again. They have used all sorts of evil weapons to obstruct this African way.
Our External and Internal Enemies have set out to build their strength against Ethiopia’s weakness. Ethiopia’s interest is to carry, not to abandon; that is why we have made our foreign policy primarily neighborhood-oriented; this is the struggle of all Back People. It is a conspiracy to humiliate the Black People and subdue the new Colonial Yoke on Ethiopia.
They are deliberately trying to undermine Black people’s own history, culture, identity and dignity. I would like to remind you that this is a campaign against Ethiopia, a campaign against Black People by kneeling Ethiopia. For the Honor and Dignity of the Black People, in the spirit of Pan-Africanism, I call on all black people to stand with Ethiopia for the sake of the dignity and sovereignty of black people.
In the end, this is the struggle of all Ethiopians. It is a struggle for our children to have a country. It is a struggle for our children to walk proudly around the World, down theirDignity and Freedom. It is a struggle to make a name for ourselves in the world. It is a struggle that determines whether we live or not. But we will definitely win. It is unthinkable for Ethiopia to be defeated. It is time to sacrifice ourselves for the country. From now on, I will march on the Battlefield from tomorrow onwards to lead the defense Force.
All of you, who aspire to be one of Ethiopia’s most admired children, stand up for your country today; let’s meet at the Battlefield. The rest of us will cover the gaps created by our campaign. State and federal leaders, who are not in the Lead, are doing their best for development and Administration more than ever.
As adults wisely guard their environment, elderly mothers and fathers pray, everyone will work together to ensure Ethiopia’s victory. This is not the time to sit idly by and criticize. Let’s do it ourselves. No one comes for Ethiopia better than we do. The name Ethiopia is the name of the winners; it is a symbol of Freedom. I have no doubt that my Generation will pay the price for its victorious name and the symbol of Freedom and will print Ethiopia and Ethiopianness in a Gold Pen.
    Thank you!
May Ethiopia be protected and honored by the efforts of her Children.
God bless Ethiopia and its people!
