Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor of Dire Dawa Administration, Kedir Juhar, thanked the Taxi Drivers and their Owners for their exemplary support to the Defense Force. He said that in the effort of sweeping both Garbages and Terrorist Junta from Dire Dawa, all Residents, including you, should work hand in Glove in an inclusive ways.
The Dire Dawa Police Commission, Commissioner Alemu Magra, on his part said that the discussions held with Dire Dawa Taxi Drivers on the current security situation were successful, andthanked the Taxi Drivers and their Owners for their inclusive support to the Defense Force.
Traffic control Director Inspector Yihnew Shiferaw and the chairman of the Night Tax Drivers Association, Kalkidan Tsehai, spoke at the event about the main purpose of the support and the amount of support received.
In total, 2002,500 birr was donated by the Dire Dawa traffic police, Taxi Drivers and Owners, and the Dire Dawa Sabian Police Camp and the local Relief Youth Network provided 46,000 birr to the Defense Force, and to the Victims who were displaced due to the War.
