The 16th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Day had been celebrated in Dire Dawa under the theme “Brotherhood for National Unity”
A Thanks Giving and recognition program was held in the Administration at Ras Hotel to recognize the tremendous contributions made by Individuals and Organizations for the successful celebration of the 16th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Day hosted by the Dire Dawa Administration on November 29, 2014e.c under the motto “Brotherhood for National Unity”.
At the thanks giving and recognition program, the invited Guests were welcomed by the Speaker of the Dire Dawa Administration Council, her Exellency W/ro Fetihya Aden.
In her speech, the Speaker said the celebration of the 16th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Day in Dire Dawa hosted while our country is in a new phase of change is a clear indication that Dire Dawa is a model for a future democratic Ethiopia.
She said the Dire Dawa Administration has made it clear to the nation and nationalities and senior federal government officials that Dire Dawa’s long-standing demand for Administrative rights has been made clear and will make the day unique and historic. She also said that the unity and solidarity shown by the Administration of the new chapter of the Administration to be celebrated in a bright way shows that it has the ability to work diligently and efficiently for the future Administrative and public Development works.
Therefore, believing that the work of the leadership and the people will only lead to success and success, she stressed that it is time for the Administration to answer the questions of Good Governance of the people and to fulfill the trust that the leadership has received from the people.
Afterwards, the Mayor of Dire Dawa, his Excellency Ato Kedir Juhar, addressed the gathering and presented certificates and trophies to various institutions and individuals who have contributed to the celebration of the 16th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Day in Dire Dawa’s success.
