The Dire Dawa Administration Revenues Authority has revealed that it has achieved 93% of its Revenues collection plan within six months of time in the year.
Briefing Journalists on the Authority’s six month plan execution, Ato Abdusalam Mehamed, General Director for the Revenues Authority, explained that the authority has, in its preparation phase, done various tasks to modernize itself and has achieved a lot on that.
Ato Abdusalam Mehamed further explained that the Authority has collected more than 596 million Birr which implies that the Authority has achieved 93% of its plan during the implementation phase; compared to last year’s same period, 15 million Birr more collection is registered.
The General Director added that the Authority has been showing progress in revenue collection under such a situation that has occurred in the nation. Taking in account the Tax Relief given by the government to the Cash Register holding Tax payers due to COVID 19 impact, the Authority has supported the Tax payers a lot. He stressed that the Authority has planned to work in collaboration with stakeholders to solve hindrances in the municipality Tax collection in Dire Dawa City. Ato Abdusalam Mehamed also urged VAT registered Tax Payers to report and pay their Taxes for they are left with few days.
Within the remaining six months, the Authority will put tremendous effort to fill gaps in the municipality tax collection so as to register better performance and to accomplish the Authority’s plan in a full manner.
