Ibrahim Yusuf, Head of the Agriculture, Water and Mineral Energy Bureau, welcomed the Dire Dawa administration high level leadership on the forum for the socio-economic benefits of cooperatives. He requested the Dire Dawa administration high level leadership and stakeholders to understand the socio- economic and political benefits of Cooperatives and join hands to contribute their shares on its development.
The Deputy Mayor of the Administration, Ahmed Buh, on his part said he is confident that the Dire Dawa administration high level leadership will understand that without cooperatives any development work carried out will be impossible. He thus urged the leadership to consider the situation and solve hindrances to work together.
“Without co-operation, it is impossible to achieve the rapid growth of our country and it is important to work together to solve the basic problem and bring success,” said Abdi Mumed, Deputy Director of the Federal Cooperative Agency.
At the forum, Director of the Directorate of the Federal Agency, Diriba Bekele, outlined the general situation of the associations, their origins, importance, visible bottlenecks and future activities.
Finally, the day’s discussion ended with an extensive discussion on the basis of the document. The forum was attended by senior management of the administration and stakeholders of the sector.
